I decided to write this article after rooting my phone. If you are a geeky guy or want more freedom then you should root your phone. If you want to know what rooting is read below.
What is rooting?
In layman terms, If you root your phone you will get device administrator access or you can control the operating system according to your way.
Root is the name of an login account in Linux operating system that has full access to system resources. This is also referred as super user. Android is built using Linux so the same terminology applies here.
So what will I get If I root?
A rooted android will be flexible. You can tweak processor speed over clock for high performance, under clock to save battery. Not only that, a big relief for people who use phones provided by service providers with their preloaded apps that you hardly ever use. You can simply remove all these preloaded apps. In android terms these apps are called as BLOATWARES.
So this short compilation of few recommended apps for rooted phones. I'm pretty sure these apps will will be useful.
#1 AdFree Android
This app has an ability to block all the adds shown in most of the free apps. Some apps even spams your notification bar with adds. Researchers from Purdue University in collaboration with Microsoft claim that third-party advertising in free smartphone apps can be responsible for as much as 65 percent to 75 percent of an app's energy consumption. So if you install and update this app with the host files you wont see any adds.
#2 Droidwall
We all use a firewall for our computers, Droidwall is an firewall for Android. With this app you can block the network access to selected apps. Some asks for weird permissions like "this app will user you camera" and so on. So if you block, the app wont have internet access
#3 Titanium backup
Most usefull app for rooted phones, with this app you will have the ability to remove unwanted system apps or the apps that came pre installed in your device. You can also use this app to back up even system apps like camera, messaging etc. the other functions are you can freeze or uninstall an app, schedule back up etc.
#4 ClockSync
ClockSync is a simple app that will automatically sync your time and timezone.
#5 CPU Tuner
User this app to overclock or under clock your device. Please read the description by developer to use this app because this app has the ability to change the voltage and other. Care should be taken while using this app otherwise you may brick your phone
There are plenty of apps in the play store for rooted phones like terminal emulator etc..The above is just a short compilation I am planning to make a top 10 compilation very soon.
